What's Going On This Fall?

Movement, Mindfulness and Me Workshops
at OM Yoga, Barre 3 FM, 8th Limb and More!

 
During the fall of 2023, you can find signature MMM children's programs in workshop formats at local yoga studios, fitness locations and neighborhood community centers!  During school hours our staff can be found teaching at day programs, preschools, private schools and more!

Please stay tuned for future announcements regarding Yoga By The Lake and specialty classes at the Tega Cay Beach Club as well!
 
The Fall 2023 "open to the public" children's programing consists of Sunday afternoon workshops that will begin in September and occur once per month for Tweens (10-12 years) and Teens (13+) as well as workshops for 5 to 8 year olds and 8 to 10 year olds that will begin in later September and Early October - dates TBA!
 
A workshop is typically 90 minutes and usually occurs once each month.  Each Workshop presented will be different than the last!

Tween Yoga & Mindfulness Workshops! "Whats Back to School Have to Do with It?"  At OM YOGA SC


September 17th and October 15th!
2:30- 4:00 PM
*Each workshop will vary in content- so attend as many as your Tween prefers throughout the school year!
 
Tween Yoga & Mindfulness, presented by Movement, Mindfulness and Me Family Yoga
 
Ages 10-12 years approximately

Tween Yoga & Mindfulness classes & workshops are designed specifically for the motor, cognitive and sensory benefits of Tweens!

Movement, and therefore yoga, is essential for fast-growing bodies. Yoga can also provide pre-teens with essential life tools such as self-esteem and confidence, inner and outer strength, attention and concentration, and heightened awareness of both oneself and others.
 

Participants will:
*Stretch and strengthen their bodies through yoga postures and motor activities and HAVE FUN!
*Build social skills & improve confidence through interactive games and stories with related yoga poses and HAVE FUN!
*Improve focus and attention by incorporating self-regulation strategies, and breathing techniques via yoga postures & mindfulness games while HAVING FUN!
*End each class with calming relaxation time (i.e. guided stories, sharing time, etc.), practicing methods they can use at home and leave feeling a noticeable difference than before they came to class!

TEEN ONLY Yoga!  At OM YOGA SC!

September 24 and October 29th!  2:30-4:00 PM

TEEN ONLY! Yoga & Mindfulness, presented by Movement, Mindfulness and Me Family Yoga
 
Ages 13-16 years approximately
 

TEEN Only! Yoga & Mindfulness classes & workshops are designed specifically for the motor, cognitive and sensory benefits of Teens!

These workshops will focus on three core elements of yoga: breathing, physical poses, and mindfulness. Teens will learn alignment and form in postures as well as expereince a flow-sequenced class, while practicing with other teens. We begin by breaking down a few key poses, then have a 45 minute vinyasa-flow practice incorporating those postures, followed by savasana and a mindfulness activity. Students can learn how to prevent injury and increase strength through proper form in their practice and take away mindfulness tools to use in their everyday lives. These workshops are a great addition to your teen's busy schedule and their “life toolbox".
 

Participants will:

Young Yogis Mindful Adventures! (Ages 8-10 years)   
Presented by Movement, Mindfulness and Me Family Yoga 

Hosted by Barre3 FM Kingsley

Young Yogis Mindful Adventures!  Classes & Workshops are designed specifically for the motor, cognitive and sensory benefits of the elementary aged students.  

This is an 8-Week Workshop Series held Wednesdays at 3:15pm at Barre3FM Kingsley location. September 6th - October 25, 2023 *

Participants will 

  • Stretch and strengthen their bodies through yoga postures and motor activities and HAVE FUN! 
  • Build social skills through interactive games and stories with related yoga poses and HAVE FUN! 
  • Improve focus and attention by incorporating self-regulation strategies, and breathing techniques into developmentally appropriate Yoga postures & Mindfulness games while HAVING FUN! 
  • End each class with calming relaxation time (i.e. guided stories, sharing time, etc.), practicing methods they can use at home and leave feeling a noticeable difference than before they came to class!

*Students attend each week for 8 weeks. The lobby will be open for parents to wait, however no child care will be provided during this class.

Movement, Mindfulness and Me Family Yoga is a group of teachers and therapists focusing on and certified in children's yoga and mindfulness that has expanded to include chair yoga, adaptive yoga and other specialty areas!  

We have undergone a major renovation in service provision durng the past 6 months and our website is "Under Construction" as we change items and reflect our new programs!  Please contact us if you need assistance and share our information with any and all  that you may feel interested!

As parents, therapists, educators, counselors, adult yogi's, and people who just simply love to work with children, we work hard to provide a foundation of success for children and those teaching children, and yoga can be a big key to their success.
 
The benefits of yoga, teaching one to be aware of connecting body awareness, movement, emotions and more with their own breath, has been shown to improve self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-confidence both physically and emotionally!   Studies also show improved attention, decrease anxiety, improved strength, balance, etc. & an increase in overall ease & health when practicing mindfulness and yoga postures!  
 
Our teachers love being able to share the practice of yoga & mindfulness in a fun engaging way that reaches out and connects to the children, adults & entire families that participate in MMM’s classes.  All of our children’s instructors hold not only their RYT (registered yoga teacher) but also the RCYT (registered children's yoga teacher) certification and many of them have certifications with Mindful Schools and other higher education entities.  All teachers are RYT’s registered with Yoga Alliance and each works in other capacities, therapists, nurses, etc. but all thoroughly enjoy teaching skills that our students can use to assist them in the life “off the mat” that we each face every-day! 

About Our Practice
 Founded by an occupational therapist in 2017, we provide yoga & mindfulness workshops to children as well as families, seniors and specialty interest groups.  MMM was created to support the growing awareness of the benefits of yoga to children and families. 

As a parent and pediatric therapist who found yoga later in life, our founder realized how important sharing the practice of yoga with children could be.  Combining a love for every type of kooky kid behaviors with the grounded understanding of yoga, Movement Mindfulness and Me was born within a local school system in 2017. 
 
Once interest took hold, and local adults were interested the next step was easy... Bring kids yoga to the community we love and live in!  We were surprised at first when we were also asked to teach to local specialty populations but WHY NOT?  Yoga & Mindfulness can benefit nearly everyone can it not?  It is not limited to any one group of persons!

Who We Serve!
At Movement, Mindfulness and Me we believe in supporting all persons. Yoga & Mindfulness can benefit nearly everyone can it not?  It is not limited to any one group of persons or physical types!    
 
We are happy to provide MMM’s signature “Someone Who Loves Me and Me” to both pre-schoolers and middle school ages alike, our “Young Yogis” children’s, tween and TEEN ONLY! Workshops, as well as workshops for caregivers/ parents. 
 
We are also happy to staff tween and TEEN yoga, chair yoga & gentle yoga in area rec or commnity centers.  We provide yoga for dementia/memory care & yoga for those with different abilities within various locations in our communities including therapy offices, day centers, schools and pre-schools!
 
Most sessions occur within the setting of existing yoga studios in the greater Fort Mill area or within other programs such as libraries, senior centers, pre-schools, private schools, as well as neighborhood community centers etc.  We work with our groups to provide classes and workshops within the space most natural to them.
