To our dear Movement, Mindfulness and Me community,
As a studio that promotes overall family health and wellness, we are proud of our everyday cleaning procedures and our awareness of those in our community with compromised immune systems and health concerns. Due to the heightened health concerns at this time we have implemented the following changes:
- Teachers have been asked to refrain from assists/supportive touch from person to person.
- Signing in for class is no longer requested each teacher will address the attendance sheet for each class.
- Extra pillowcases for use on all props have been brought in.
- Adults and Children signed up for classes are encouraged to stay home if coughing or sick.
- Students are given extra reminders to wash hands before and after class
Our cleaning procedures have been increased during this time to take extra precautions:
- Regular deep-cleaning of the studio has been increased to daily (floors, toilets, sinks)
- Sanitizing of doorknobs, rails, switches, and other frequently-touched places are wiped down 2-3 times daily
- We typically use all natural essential oil and vinegar based cleaning products in our studios- however due to the nature of this current virus we are also utilizing products recommended by the CDC such as Lysol, Clorox and Purrell and we will continue to do so until further notice.
We always do the following:
- Clean blocks & rental mats after each use
- Wash straps and blankets weekly
- Spray blankets and bolsters with cleaning solution
- Provide students with complimentary sanitizing mat/block spray
- Sweep after classes & mop daily in the yoga room throughout the week
- Clean the lobby, lounge, cubbies, and bathrooms daily
- Use sanitizing wipes and spray for surfaces
Here are some things you can do to help keep yourself and our community well:
- Wash your hands before and after class
- If you typically borrow a mat -please remember that our loaner mats are intended to be used occasionally, as a mat is sometimes forgotten, and perhaps consider purchasing one for personal use now and in the future
- Use the individual pillowcases provided to cover bolsters
- Use our complimentary sanitizing mat & block spray
- If you are feeling unwell, we recommend a home practice
On another note, a local leader in yoga education recently reminded us that times like this present us with an opportunity to self-reflect, deepen our awareness, raise our vibration, create supportive community, and develop new visions for ourselves and our communities – we may miss these opportunities if we allow ourselves to be swept up entirely in any form of panic.
There is definitely a place for each person’s yoga practice in these uncertain and stressful times. Of course, yoga is not the medical solution for the virus, but it certainly can help us feel better during the crisis. Finding ways to come “together” either in person or remotely may be critical for us to find moments of peace and support in the upcoming weeks. We at MMM are prepared to look into remote ways to bring our classes to all enrolled if necessary. At this time, we feel confident that our small setting and the procedures you have read above keep our risks as low as possible however, we encourage each family to do what they feel is best for their family members as this issue progresses.
We are staying informed of local and national updates. We will make updates to this email and communicate with you as procedures change.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to admin@movementmindfulnessandme.com
As always we are grateful to have you as part of our Movement, Mindfulness and Me community and we appreciate your ongoing support in our services to you. We look forward to a beautiful spring season!
Warmest Regards,
The Movement, Mindfulness and Me Team
