M,M and Me Friends and Families...
One year ago, 15 year old Ashton Dickey and her friend Amara went out to get milkshakes on a Saturday night. They never made it home as they were killed by a senseless drunk driver on their way back. It was one week shy of Ashton's sixteenth birthday. Our community, hearts and lives have felt this tragic loss so deeply.
Ashton had many sparkles in life, her brightest being her kind heart. Her family and her friends created #CHOOSEKINDWEEK to promote that legacy of kindness. Movement, Mindfulness and Me has gladly joined in celebrating this young beautiful life and spreading kindness.
We are inviting everyone who registers for Saturday’s Yoga By The Lake class to bring a friend, a neighbor, a co-worker, a daughter or a son... reach out with a call or text and invite them out. Bring them as our guest with you on Saturday 8/1/20... at our studio we teach that kindness & heartfelt actions spread three levels deep ... so help us spread kindness. ✨ Bring a friend to class with you on us... register one... bring two ✨
Please also stay on the look out for an organized fundraising class for Ashton's families MADD Team in the near future.
We are asking our MM&M families to celebrate her legacy by performing small acts of kindness in her name from July 28 through August 4th her birthday.......and please keep her parents and her sister Faith in your prayers. Their family is a part of the M,M and Me family and this folks is what we believe families do for each other... so please consider joining us...
Some suggested acts of kindness:
- randomly pay for someone's donuts or coffee as these were her faves!
-buy a gas card and leave at the tank for someone to find - she loved driving and the freedom it brought
-donate blankets, food or funds to an animal shelter as she loved animals
-offer to baby sit for someone for free for a night or a few hours
-hit the DQ drive through and pay for someones treats
-donate in her name to MADD or donate to her scholarship fund for St Annes, a place she held close to her heart (see attached)
"Most importantly, don't drink and drive. The Dickey's don't want any other family to feel the depth of unnecessary agony that they are going through. Ashton and Amara would being starting their senior year of high school this fall.......we miss your beautiful light sweet girls, and will carry on your legacy."
