Someone Who Loves Me and Me

This is a class designed for children that are walking (active crawlers close to walking counts too!) through approximately age 4. They are up off the floor and on the move- this class allows them to move their active bodies in a safe and supportive environment!  This class is intended to provide exposure, experience and physical development opportunities as well as bonding with parent or caregiver…  gaining a little core strength, balance and stability for all of the great skills coming next for your little yoga mini is a bonus!

Young Yogi's

These classes are designed specifically for the motor, cognitive and sensory benefits of the early elementary aged students.  Participants will

  • stretch and strengthen their bodies through yoga postures and motor activities
  • build social skills through interactive games and stories with related yoga poses
  • improve focus and attention by incorporating self-regulation strategies, and breathing techniques into developmentally appropriate yoga & Mindfulness games
  • end each class with calming relaxation time (i.e. guided stories, sharing time, etc.)

Chair Yoga

Postures in the practice of yoga help us reach a higher state of health and well-being.  The movement patterns in yoga have been shown to improve strength, stability, balance, digestion/elimination, immunity and overall feelings of well being! The use of a chair or any other yoga prop facilitates this according to our body’s personal structure and ability. The chair allows for many to improve their postural alignment the basis for each subtle movement within the class. The use of a chair can minimize the activity of the mind (often expressed as concern about stability, strength, balance, etc.) by allowing time to integrate the posture from the inside out as well as experiencing the ease and steadiness of the form with the support of the chair beneath the body.   This class is very accessible.

Individual Yoga Session

There are times when a child may need  individual support, before  or during, their participation in a group class.  At MMM, we support each child in class attendance with their peers, even if that means modifying the time they are in a group setting  to meet the just right challenge for the child). In an individual session the poses are introduced and practiced using modalities and tehniques that support the child’s attention and any related goals.  * Notice the fine motor, visual attention and visual motor skills being used hwile the child is introduced to the yoga poses they will experience in the class setting.

Yoga for Restoration and Relaxation

A combination of breathing techniques, supported poses, gentle movements and long passive holds are utilized to work deeply, relieving held tension. This class is the practice of asanas, each held for longer than in conventional yoga as exercise, often with the support of props such as folded blankets, to support and allow the body to surrender, allowing the muscles to release and the mind to calm. Perfect for all ages, levels, prenatal, and to complement an active lifestyle. A blissful way to unwind!  Movements are floor based. The perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular “yang” yoga classes! Designed to leave yogis in a state of balance, peace and calm; yet completely refreshed.

Teen Yoga Flow

This series will focus on three core elements of yoga: breathing, physical poses, and meditation. It is designed as a way for teens to learn better alignment and form in postures as well as get a flow-sequenced class, all in one hour. We begin by breaking down a few key poses, then have a 30 minute vinyasa-flow practice incorporating those postures. This way, students can learn how to prevent injury and increase benefits through proper form in their practice. Each week, we will practice a variety of standing, sitting, and balancing poses along with different breathing and meditation techniques. We’ll challenge our bodies and our minds in a safe and comfortable class. This is a great place to start if this is your first yoga class ever or if you have been practicing for awhile join this class to review alignment and breakdown poses.  This class is a great addition to your busy weekly schedule

Movement Mindfulness and Me Children’s & Family Yoga!

😊 We are not your typical yoga studio! 😊

Thank you for visiting! Please explore our site (don’t miss the gallery) to see if MMM is what you are looking for …

MMM specializes in 8-week recreational after school classes for Children, Tween & Teens- teaching yoga, mindfulness, self-awareness, self-regulation, coping strategies involving breathwork and overall health awareness in fun filled age- appropriate classes. We host four 8 Week sessions per school year; Fall I, Fall II, Winter and Spring!  The summer months brings Summer Camps of course, one of our favorite times of the year!

MMM support’s adults, by request from many of our families and caregivers, through multi-week recreational programs in slow flow yoga, restorative yoga, and cardio and clarity yoga.  Each class is held once weekly and clients sign up for a 6 or 8-week series.

Our founder is an occupational therapist, who has worked extensively with both children and adults, in a variety of settings over the past 25 + years before founding MMM.    She continues to work individually with adult and pediatric clients.  Adults often referred post PT or OT or from local chiropractors and other health providers, providing therapeutic yoga for injury and illness recovery.  What is a therapeutic yoga session like?  Think personal trainer meets rehab therapist where yoga and mindfulness is used as the modality to strengthen the recovering body & mind as it returns to previous level of activity.

We love to provide custom classes for schools (including pre-schools, public and private schools), organizations such as PTO’s, PTA’s, parent/youth groups, specialized groups, and health care providers that wish to provide a group setting for their clients, as well as custom continuing education for corporate human resource departments and school personnel.

Multi- week mindfulness programming at local elementary schools, sports teams, scout meetings and one visit “on-site field trips” are also a popular outings for our teachers!

We welcome individuals, families and children of all ages and abilities to discover the joys of yoga and mindfulness.  Contact us and trial a class, feel accepted and inspired to move along on your personal journey of health and wellness without comparison to others to become more and more authentically “you”.

When we care for ourselves we are more prepared to care for others along life’s path.

Our team is here … read on and contact us for more information.

We can’t wait to meet you!

Children & Tween Yoga & Mindfulness Programming

Hour long classes (Aug- June) and Summer Camps (Mornings June- August). Children participate in yoga-based games/activities and mindfulness lessons that, with practice, improve self- awareness, awareness of others, and ability to self-regulate. Through practice, just like any sport or musical instrument, these social-emotional skills become more automatic and occur more naturally in daily life.

Adult Yoga

A comfortable studio space is provided where one can explore yoga. As a beginner or someone returning to yoga after a time away you will find a supportive and nurturing environment. We encourage you to meet your body where it is each time you come to your mat and to love its movements and abilities as you expand your practice. Modifications are provided and teachers encourage the use of props during practice. Props support the body and assist in providing the “just right” challenge. We encourage meeting your edge without pain or discomfort while discovering the ease of expanding both the physical and mental body.

I’ve had chronic shoulder pain for about 15 years now. I needed someone who would listen & work on specific areas of pain. This was the BEST massage for my deep pain that I have had in 15 years of trying MANY different massages therapists! I will be buying a package for sure.
