Children’s Yoga and Mindfulness Classes
These energetic classes are designed by RCYT’s and overseen by a pediatric therapist specifically with the motor, cognitive and developmental needs of children from Pre-schoolers to middle schoolers in mind. Movement and mindfulness experiences that improve self-regulation, attention, ability to follow directions, and so much more!
Each class closes with the concept of quiet and stillness of the mind that benefit children of all ages. When we practice self reflections and stillness we learn to become less reactive and more responsive in daily life situations. Through practice, just like any sport or musical instrument, these social-emotional skills become more automatic and begin to occur more naturally in daily life. Class sizes are small with a max of 10 children.
Why Children’s Yoga?
“Yoga is that one type of exercise that improves flexibility, core strength, and even balance. It seems to be one of the most complete and inclusive forms of exercise that we offer our kids of any age.”
-Lori Watkins, Recreation Coordinator at Lakeshore Foundation – National Center on Health, Physical Activity & Disability- NCHPAD
